Godfreys has all types of Vacuums!

When it comes to keeping your home spotless and mess free, Godfreys has all types of vacuums. You’ll find bagless and bagged vacuums, uprights, sticks, robots and handheld vacuums, as well as wet and dry vacuums.

Some vacuums are perfect for removing pet hair, while others are ideal for people with allergies. We have big vacuums, small vacuums and every type of vacuum in between. So when you are shopping for the perfect vacuum cleaner for your home, Godfreys has you covered.

What type of vacuum is best for carpets?

You can generally use any type of vacuum on most floors, but some types perform better than others for thick carpets. Robot and handheld vacuums, for example, are not the best option for thick carpets. In these instances, you’re better off with an upright vacuum such as the Vorwerk Kobold VK200, which comes with ultrasonic sensors that automatically adjust the power setting for different floor types.

Another option for thick carpets is the upright Hoover vacuum, which allows you to adjust the height of the motorised powerhead for different floorings. So, when it comes to what type of vacuum is best for carpets, our suggestion is a powerful upright vacuum with an adjustable head.

What type of vacuum do I need?

When you’re in the market for a new vacuum, there are some questions worth asking yourself. After all, there are many different types of vacuums on the market. Consider whether you need a bagless or a bagged vacuum, and whether a corded or stick vacuum will work best for your needs. Do you need a vacuum that’s designed for allergies and pet hair? If you’re asking yourself,  “What type of vacuum do I need?”, there are plenty of options to explore. In the end, however, it will likely come down to your own preferences.

Pros and cons of bagged vs bagless vacuums

With a bagged vacuum, you need to empty or replace the bag on a regular basis. This could be weekly, depending on how often you use the vacuum and how much debris it removes. A  bagless vacuum, however, usually needs to be emptied more frequently. Because it gets full very quickly, it will often need emptying after every use.

Another con with bagless vacuums is that every time you empty the canister, dust is released into the air, something that doesn’t happen with a bagged vacuum. If you have a problem with dust, consider a bagged vacuum cleaner over a bagless model. However, if you dislike buying bags and having to change them, a bagless option might be better for your needs.

Pros and cons of corded vs stick vacuums

Corded vacuums can often be more powerful than stick vacuums, but that’s not always true. It’s always best to check the size of the motor to be sure. One selling point with a stick vacuum is that there’s no cord to drag around behind you while you’re cleaning, but battery life is a feature worth considering. If you can’t vacuum much of your home before the battery needs recharging, then a corded model is probably more suitable. If you’re considering a corded vacuum cleaner, check whether you have enough power points throughout your home to eliminate the need for an extension cord.

What about vacuums for allergies and pet hair?

If you have pets or suffer from allergies, you need a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter, which reduces the number of microscopic allergens that can be lifted into the air while vacuuming. At Godfreys, our Ecovacs DEEBOT OZMO robot vacuum comes with a HEPA filter, as well as our Hoover Action Pets Vacuum, Hoover Allergy Bagless Vacuum, Hoover Bagged Vacuum and many more models.
