Have you ever heard of such poor customer service!

On 7 Sept, I purchased a brand new Vorwerk Kobold Upright worth over $2k just before going overseas, and had no time to trial it out but decided to return it unopened, untrialed because we didn't want it - not the right timing. There is a 10 day guarantee of return no questions asked and money back.

My husband unfortunately got it back 1 day late because we were flat out with my impending overseas trip, organising homeschool while I was away, etc .. he returned the goods unopened to the store including the receipt and was rung back later (date/time stamp on his phone) telling him they would waive the 10 days, given we are loyal customers who have been with Godfrey's for over 10 years and purchased all our vacuum cleaners thru' them. But they couldn't refund at the time back onto my credit card because apparently I had to be there with ID given it's over $2k purchase.

So after my 2 week trip to the US, I drop into the store on Thurs 26 before 10am to get the refund done only to be told I had to return on the weekend because only the guy I purchased it from, can do the refund that had been approved. I couldn't get there over the weekend because we had things organised that couldn't be changed so I planned to drop in the following weekend.

I got a call yesterday from Godfrey's store manager, telling me to come pick up my machine. I told them we are expecting a refund. We argue and by the end of conversation he says he'll get it sorted and money will be back on the credit card by end of the day.

I've just gotten off the phone after being called by Godfrey @ Castle Hill again today Tues 1 Oct 3:30pm .. telling me they won't do the refund because it was over the 10 day policy. Of course I argue with him again and ask why we haven't been told this from the beginning when my husband first returned the machine.

So .. we are now escalating within the Godfrey Head Office .. I mean how unreasonable is this? The vacuum cleaner hasn't even been opened out of the box .. they can sell it on. They should just refund my money and case closed!

But no .. we are going to have to go thru' a massive saga despite being led to believe all along that head office approval to refund us outside the 10 day policy (by 1 day!) was fine.
So moral of the story is .. don't bother being loyal to Godfrey's because:

1. they stick to their stupid policy above customer loyalty and have no flexibility given the product isn't even opened or that we've been with them since 10 years
2. their store managers are constantly changing and you can't guarantee that one knows what the other has told you
3. their top end vacuum cleaners are awesome, but this is not worth it! I'd rather purchase my next vacuum cleaner directly off the internet, instead of dealing with a nightmare of a company who can't get it's communication straight nor has any loyalty back in return!

Before I first used it, I thought this might be a bit complicated to use. However I find it does an excellent job, especially now I feel so confident using it.

I love this product it really saves me from vacuuming and then mopping my hardfloors. If you have any spillages though, this product cannot vacuum liquid, its a mopping system, that cleans the floor with minimum water and very little detergent. The floors are almost dry, perfect for timber or tiles, perfect for large areas too.

Pricey product but does the job in combination with the vacuum. I have polished hardwood floors so it cleans and polishes them beautifully. I would recommend it versus any competitive hard floor mop currently out there.

I was not overly impressed with the 'preparation' of the mop head; I thought it wasted a lot of 'prepared' water as not much was needed to wet the sponge. The use of the 'water bottle' I think was unnecessary as you had to put so much water in the bottle to dilute it with the floor solution; then you had to squeeze the water out onto the sponge to wet it. I thought it wasted a lot of diluted floor solution and water preparation. But perhaps I did it wrong; I did follow the instructions however.....

Service from Godfreys in Gunghalin was good. I have not had good service in any of the other Godfreys stores in Canberra. I entered many but always felt that I was not welcome in the store.
I dont know why I entered the Gungahlin store but I am glad that I did.

The sales person was extremely helpful, he knew the product really well, and provided us with the choices and comparison products to help us make a decsion on which product to buy.

The gentleman that served me at the Mt Ommaney Shop (Ryan, I believe was his name) promoted the features of the products that were being displayed for sale at Godfreys very well. These are 'top shelf " products with a "top shelf" price, yet he did not employ any "top shelf" salesmanship but demonstrated the products, answered questions and explained purchase options. "Top shelf" service - thank you. I will return to buy the robot floor sweeper also. :)

Great sales people and always helpful at this store. Know the product and helped explain all the attachments. Have been dealing with the store for the last 10 years. The new vacuum it perfect for what we want with a lot of carpet and tiles in the house.
