Our experts have answered some of your most frequently asked questions about stick vacuums, to help you decide if they could be the right cleaning solution for you.

What are stick vacuums good for?

Stick vacuums are incredibly convenient to have in the house. They’re lightweight and cordless, with no heavy canisters or power plugs needed! That makes them great for daily cleaning or for quick spills and dropped crumbs, wherever the mess may be.

Are stick vacuums worth it?

Whether you plan to use it as your main vacuum or as a quick, on-hand option for daily cleaning, stick vacuums are certainly a worthy investment. They can make cleaning a heap more convenient, can be used on everything from floors to furniture, and come in basic to premium options. So, there’s a model for every budget.

Are stick vacuums better than barrel vacuums?

These two types of models focus on different aspects, so one isn’t necessarily better than the other. For example, sticks are designed for convenience — they’re lightweight, cordless, and versatile. Barrel vacuums are corded and focus more on power and suction, variable vacuum heads for tough jobs, and large dust bin capacity.

You may find sticks are better for quick spills and daily cleans. Whereas a barrel vacuum could be more suited to less frequent, but deeper, cleans or large homes and families.

Can you use a stick vacuum on carpet?

Carpets can be one of the tougher areas to clean — especially if you have longer, shaggier fibres. However, stick vacuums are still a great option and should offer more than enough power for regular cleaning jobs — particularly if you have a more premium option.

For deeper cleans it may be worth using a barrel vacuum or carpet shampooer on occasion.

How long does the battery last on stick vacuums?

This depends on the model you’re using and what you’re cleaning. Basic stick vacuums typically offer around 25 minutes of runtime, while some of our premium models have multiple batteries and offer up to a massive 120 minutes of runtime!

It’s worth mentioning that many of our stick vacuums include docking stations that charge your vacuum while neatly storing it away. So, you should always have a fully charged vacuum every time you pick it up!

Can you clean your car with a stick vacuum?

Part of what makes a stick vacuum so great is its versatility. With just a few handy attachments, they can clean just about anywhere — including your car.

Simply remove the larger vacuum neck and your stick vacuum converts into a hand vacuum in an instant. Combine that with the included upholstery tools, crevice brushes and more, and you have everything you need to get in between those car seats!
